Who we are
The experience of Austin Metal & Iron's management team is extraordinary and is unmatched by others. Our company is very proud to have recently been presented with a very prestigious award given by The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (also called ISRI). This award is normally given to an individual but for the first time in history, the 2015 award was given to a family. This award is given for the outstanding achievement, distinguished leadership, and contribution to the recycling industry. We have two locations, one is located Downtown and the other on Decker Lane in Austin TX.

Jim Shapiro
Owner / Vice President 1998-Current
- Served on board of
- Institute of Scrap Recycling (ISRI)
- Currently serves as the president of The Recycling Council of Texas which serves as the legislative voice of all Texas Recycling companies
- Currently sits on the Texas Metals Recycling Advisory Board which is a Governor Appointed Position. This board is organized by the Texas Department of Public Safety and its main objective is to help prevent metal theft.
